SECRET member Sunhwa is confirmed to be leaving the girl group when her contract with TS Entertainment ends on Oct. 13. The report was confirmed by the agency in a statement released on Monday, which was later supported by Sunhwa in an Instagram post.
TS Entertainment also revealed that SECRET will still continue despite Sunhwa's departure. This is after the three other members, Hyosung, Ji Eun and Hana, renewed their contracts with the agency, Allkpop reported.
The label also asked their fans to continue their support towards the girl group and to Sunhwa, as she takes a new path. Meanwhile, Sunhwa took to her Instagram account to thank her fans for their support while she was with SECRET.
"I'd like to thank everyone for the great love and interest that came with my seven years as a Secret member. I'm so happy and thankful that we were able to cry together and laugh together," she posted as per Soompi.
The SECRET member also reminisced her accomplishments for the past seven years, which she said, would not be possible without the help of her co-members. Sunhwa also apologized about her departure, adding that the decision was not easy for her.
She went on, "I will treasure all those precious memories. And all the passion that I've poured out till now, from now on I will continued to pour them out for the coming days," adding that she will continue to work hard to improve and to repay her fans for their support.
"I sincerely thank everyone who was with me up till now, including the TS family, the members, and all the fans," she ended her post.
