Sean Maguire will reprise his role as Robin Hood on "Once Upon A Time" Season 6.
Regina's lost love will return on ABC's "Once Upon A Time." According to Entertainment Weekly, Maguire will reappear in multi-episodes of the new installment. However, the publication confirmed that Robin will not be resurrected from the dead.
It's yet to be determined if Maguire is returning via flashbacks, a dream sequence or some other means.
"We're thrilled to have Sean back for this story arc and are excited for the audience to see what we have planned, which in the wake of his character's heartbreaking demise, is something we hope is unexpected and surprising," executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis told the publication.
Viewers last saw Robin in season 5's finale, when he sacrificed himself to protect Regina - an arc which ultimately lead to his death. At that time, Maguire was pretty convinced that Robin's death will mark his last appearance on Once Upon A Time.
"On "Once Upon a Time," death can sometimes only be the beginning," the actor told Variety in an interview.
"But I do feel in this particular case, there seemed to be, in the writing, a little bit more finality to Robin's death. I think they were trying to make clear that just because they can bring Hook back from the dead, it doesn't mean that everybody who dies comes back from the dead."
Maguire joins previously announced returning guest star Gabrielle Rose, who is set to reprise her role as Charming's mother.
An all new episode of Once Upon A Time titled "A Bitter Draught," will air on Sunday, Oct. 2 on ABC.
