Indian actress Deepika Padukone has become the most followed Asian woman on Twitter.
The 29-year-old Bollywood star, who is also most followed Indian actress on Facebook and Instagram, has surpassed Indonesian celebrity Agnez Mo as the most popular Asian woman on the micro blogging site, India TV News reported. Padukone, who is also among the top 10 highest paid actresses in the world, has 16 million followers on twitter while Mo has 15.8 followers.
The "Chennai Express" actress is currently busy shooting for her Hollywood debut "XxX: Return of Xander Cage" opposite Vin Diesel. Padukone will next seen in Sajay Leela Bhansali's historical romance drama "Padmavati" opposite her boyfriend Ranveer Singh. The hit trio of Padukone, Bhansali and Singh have earlier worked together in "Bajirao Mastani" and "Galiyon Ki Ramleela."
As per media reports, Padukone is also being considered to play female lead in Tamil epic movie "Sanghamitra." Directed by Sundar C, "Sanghamitra" will be most expensive movie in the history of Kollywood. She is also in talks with director Sriram Raghavan, known for thriller "Badlapur," to work in his next project opposite "Mirza" actor Harshavardhan Kapoor.
Padukone, who recently appeared in Britannia Good Day' 'Smile More for a Good Day' TV commercial, believes that smiles are so magical and it is important to smile through tough times. "Smiles are so magical. We don't even realize what a positive effect they have on us and the people around us. Life can often get stressful, and it's important to try and smile even through those times," Indian Express quoted the actress as saying.
