"StartUp" actor Adam Brody and "Silicon Valley" actress Amanda Crew are set to star in the psychological thriller "The Wanting." "The Road" Filipino director Yam Laranas is being helmed on it.
According to Variety, Brody will play as Matt Kane and Crew as his wife Larissa Kane in "The Wanting." The script is about an all-American couple who wants to start a family.
In the plot of "The Wanting," the couple's dream is shattered after they move into the perfect New England neighborhood, Deadline reported. Once settled, they soon after descend into the depths of terror. They struggle to survive a genuine threat from a dark presence that appears to want to end their very lives.
"The Wanting" is based on a short story by Gin de Mesa and Laranas. It is said to be in the vein of "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Exorcist."
The adapted screenplay "The Wanting" is written by "Milton's Secret" scribe Donald Martin. It will be produced by Rob Heydon. It will be executive produced by Sid Ganis and Joni Sighvatsson.
Brody is best known for his role as Seth Cohen in Fox's teen drama "The O.C." He is currently seen in the Sony Crackle series "StartUp" and is expected to appear in the upcoming Warner Bros. release "CHiPs." He is represented by UTA.
Crew co-stars in the HBO comedy "Silicon Valley." She has toplined in "Charlie St. Cloud," "Sex Drive," and "The Age of Adaline." She is repped by UTA, Vickie Petronio at Play Management, and the attorneys at Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
The production of "The Wanting" is currently underway and already filming in Toronto.
