EXO member Sehun was put into hot water for his Instagram post on Wednesday. Sehun reportedly wrote "nice weather" alongside a sun emoticon in his post which was taken down immediately.
Sehun's Instagram post outraged most of his followers, who said the EXO member was being insensitive about the situation in some parts of South Korea, Allkpop reported. A commenter asked Sehun, "Was it necessary to post this right now?"
According to Reuters, typhoon Chaba hit the southern parts of South Korea leaving at least five casualties and damaging properties. Some parts affected by the typhoon include Jeju Island, Busan and Ulsan.
Typhoon Chaba also flooded the main port and industrial sites of South Korea. Other parts also experienced power outages due to heavy rains and strong winds, while several flights were canceled amid the calamity.
Reports suggest Busan and Ulsan were the most affected of typhoon Chaba. Video footages of the current situation in these areas circulated on the internet, revealing how the typhoon battered the cities.
As per reports, typhoon Chaba is now exiting South Korea and is headed to Japan were flights have already been cancelled by the meteorological agency.
Meanwhile, EXO's Sehun hopes typhoon Chaba will not leave a lot of damages in South Korea. "The weather over here was nice, so I just posted it. I knew what was happening after I saw the news. I guess the southland is still getting hit with a serious typhoon. I hope there won't be a lot of damages," he wrote.
While the EXO member is being bombarded with hate comments for his previous post, other fans came to rescue and cheer their idol.
