"Hawaii Five-0" alum Michael Sun Lee will not be the only Asian actor set to appear in the upcoming TV series "Fuller House," which a reboot of the 1980s ABC sitcom "Full House." Joining him in the cast is Ashley Liao, who will play the role of Lola.
There are still no available details about Liao's role in "Fuller House." On the other hand, it has been revealed that Lee will play the grown-up version of Harry Takayama, which was originally played by "Hiroshima: Out of the Ashes" actor Nathan Nishiguchi.
Liao's "Fuller House" co-stars are Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, Soni Bringas, Michael Campion, Elias Harger, Dashiell Messitt and Fox Messitt. Like Lee, John Stamos, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Lori Loughlin, Scott Weinger, Blake Tuomy-Wilhoit, Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit, Eva LaRue and Juan Pablo Di Pace will also play recurring roles.
Most of the cast of "Full House" reprise their role in "Fuller House." In an interview with People while on the set of the upcoming series, Stamos said, "It's been beautiful because we've all had ups and downs. We've had divorces and deaths and we've all been there for each other like a real family."
In "Fuller House," the Tanner family will move back into their San Francisco house. The house still looks similar to its appearance in the original ABC sitcom "Full House" in the 1990s.
Liao's character will make her debut in "Fuller House" Season 1 episode 6. Lee will not be featured in the episode but Liao will be joined by another Asian actor.
Cambodian-American Punnavith Koy will play a chicken costumed patron in "Fuller House" Season 1 episode 6. The actor will also be seen in several TV series including "Westworld," "House of Lies," "Secret and Lies," "Angel from Hell," "Agent Carter" and "Supergirl," among others.
Before playing Lola in "Fuller House," Liao appeared as Mary in "Bad Teacher" Season 1 episode 8 titled "Nix the Fat Week" in 2014. She is also set to play Syd in "Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn" Season 2 episode 23.
The first film Liao starred in was the 2014 TV movie "Fatrick," which was directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash. She is also set to star in "Jessica Darling's It List" with Eva Bella, Jane Sibbett and Abraham Benrubi, who plays the cook in the Chris Pine starrer "The Finest Hours," according to Movie Web.
"Fuller House" will premiere on Feb. 26 on Netflix. Watch the teaser here:
