When fans are dedicated to a franchise, they could not help but be inspired in creating their own material dedicated to said franchise. Even if games like "Pokemon Uranium" threw in the towel, others more like it will keep sprouting, such as the case of "Pokemon Prism."
According to Nintendo Insider, the fan game is actually a hack from the "Pokemon Gold" game. Developers from NSomniart and TPP have worked so hard at this game, along with a bunch of artists, musicians, other developers, and designers. "Pokemon Prism" also serves as a sequel to "Pokemon Brown," a rom hack of the original "Pokemon Red." The design is reminiscent of the Pokemon games back in the Game Boy Color but runs in 60 FPS.
Like "Pokemon Uranium," the fan game features a new story, new region, and a roster of over 200 Pokemon, to name a few. Players can even access trainer customization and the ability to play as one of the Pokemon, according to Gamespot.
Players take the role of the child of the Elite 4's Lance, who ends up in a region called Naljo after playing in their uncle's mine cart. The character will encounter numerous Pokemon from the franchises, along with the new ones that bring back the Pokemon types from the previous game "Pokemon Brown." These "new" additional types are Gas, Wood, Wind, Abnormal, and Sound.
"Pokemon Prism" was featured in theTwitch channel TwitchPlaysPokemon, where players input commands in chat that will be applied in the game. Hopefully, this won't attract any unwanted attention from lawsuits, such as the case with "Pokemon Uranium" back then, which forced it to shut down.
"Pokemon Prism" is expected to be available for download for the PC by December.
