Netflix recently released the full fourth season of "Orange is the New Black" with some stark revelations and plot twists. As the show returns for its fifth season next year, the fate of the popular inmates is soon revealed.

"Orange is the New Black" is Netflix's ticket to mainstream viewership as it became a powerhouse due to its impressive viewership and awards. It's no wonder why the series was renewed not only for one but for three more seasons. According to Entertainment Weekly, the popular series about female inmates will continue until the seventh season.

Because the series is confirmed for three more seasons, the storyline of the female inmates could go further and more questions will be answered once the series returns in 2017. Although each inmate has their own issues to deal with, the cliffhanger at the end of the series is begging for answers.

(Warning: Spoilers)

According to Movie Pilot, the series will return to determine the fate of Daya. The series ends with Daya pointing a gun to Correction Officer Thomas Humphrey. Although CO Humphrey is detestable in the series, Daya ultimately forgoes with the plan of shooting the officer.

Unfortunately, Daya's actions will cause some serious repercussions and she'll have to face the music in the upcoming series. She may end up in solitary confinement for a very, very long time.

But Daya is not the only one in trouble next season. Piper was also in focus in season four and her discreet business could come back to bite her in season five.

The fate of the characters in "Orange is the New Black" is still uncertain. Although these characters are the pillars of the show, it doesn't mean they will continue to strive from one season to the next. Poussey' cold, dead body lying in the cafeteria is a reminder that even though these characters offer the best in the show, they are not safe.

"Orange is the New Black" is set to return for its fifth season June or July 2017. Until Netflix release the brand new series, the fate of the characters in the show are still unknown.
