Rumors that NBA's Boston Celtics will acquire Jahlil Okafor from the Philadelphia 76s is once again a definite possibility according to reports. The Celtics and Sixers are reportedly in talks of possible deal that will send Jahlil to Celtics in exchange for one of the Nets' first-round picks.
After the trade deadline in February Celtics general manager Danny Ainge said that a big trade is coming. Said deal would have ended up in Celtics giving up the pick to select Jaylen Brown at No. 3 overall. Ainge initially declined to name his target until Boston Herald reported that Ainge actually wants Philly's Jahlil Okafor.
The 76ers are loaded in the front court especially after acquiring Ben Simmons and Dario Saric. On the other hand, the Celts need a big man so an impending trade between the two teams could result to a win-win situation, CBS Sports reported.
Jahlil is not the only 76er that has been associated to be in a trading block. Earlier reports said that Nerlens Noel donning the Celtics uniform in the future was underway in exchange for Marcus Smart. However, with Evan Turner gone, the Celts might have had a change of heart.
As for the possible acquisition of a first-round draft pick, if the 76ers play their cards right, they might get a big boost their chances of being a contender. If the deal will push through, only time will tell if Okafor is worth giving up the possible first overall pick in a draft class loaded with talents.
