Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige revealed that Rachel McAdams will not be the night nurse in the film.
McAdams will play the role of a character named Christine Palmer. In the comic books, Palmer eventually becomes the Night Nurse. Asked about the status of McAdam's role, Feige said:
"I will say that that story line does not play into the movie. It's just as much fun for us as it is for the fans to speculate about that," Entertainment Weekly reported.
For now, the character will be a regular nurse employed by Doctor Strange. However, it remains possible that she will eventually take the mantle of the Night Nurse if there will be a follow-up film, Screen Rant reported.
McAdams had been asked earlier about the rumors but she declined to comment. "Mum's the word on that one," she said. This is not to say that she will have a minor role in the film. It appears in the trailers that she had been a fixture in Strange's life long before he becomes the Sorcerer Supreme.
Elsewhere, "Doctor Strange" promotion is in full swing. Recently, several fans got the opportunity to watch the first 15-minutes of the film. Most of the reviews were favorable to the studio saying that the highly touted "mind-bending" effects are impressive.
Fans disclosed that the first 15 minutes of the film will have Strange will give hints about Strange's relationship with Palmer. It will likewise feature a cameo by Stan Lee.
