Obsidian has been responsible for creating awesome RPGs such as "Fallout New Vegas" and "Pillars of Eternity." While most RPGs have the good-triumphs-over-evil trope, their new RPG derails from that and it's called "Tyranny."

The game will launch on the PC platform, including Windows, Mac, and Linux computers. In addition to that, Obsidian will be receiving preorders already, based on reports from Gamespot.

Speaking of preorders, the game will be offering three versions: the Commander Edition ($45), the Archon Edition ($60), and the Overlord Edition ($80). Along with the base game, other digital content like the forum icons and avatars, ringtones, the soundtrack, and art books will be available also, especially with the Overlord Edition having the most content than the rest.

According to an earlier article Den of Geek, Obsidian was mentioned to be the purveyors of the hardcore RPG genre as they provide immersive and unique experiences to their fans. While numerous games (especially the role playing ones) have the paragons of good stopping the forces of evil, "Tyranny" has evil as the triumphant force.

The game mentions that the forces of good are a little more than just small pockets of community scattered throughout the realm. It will be set in a high fantasy world set between the Bronze Age and Iron Age. Here, the world has been taken over by the Overlord Kyros by force, with the player taking the role of the Fatebinder, one of his lieutenants. The player acts as judge, jury, and executioner in his actions in order to subjugate people under the Overlord's rule.

"Tyranny's" game direction follows very similarly to Obsidian's previous RPG "Pillars of Eternity" in the isometric point of view. Typically the game's story and NPC interaction will be based on the numerous decisions the players make, much like how Obsidian's previous RPG did it. This time, however, the characters can progress through a skill based system instead of the typical class based progression in most RPGs.
