Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green lashed out at Paul Pierce's comment who criticized Kevin Durant's action to join Warriors, the team that defeated his old team in the last season's playoffs.

Green said in defense of Durant saying to criticis particularly Pierce's comment to give a break as reported by ESPN. The power forward said that everybody might have something to say about Pierce's comment and twisted it.

Pierce, the 2008 NBA champion in an interview with SiriusFM as quoted by SB Nation that he is an old school guy and a competitor. Therefore, he believed that in order to be the best, players must beat the best, not joining team that defeated them.

"That's like if Bird decided to go play with Magic or something. These guys, I think the competition makes the game what is," he said in a comparison to two NBA legends Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.

Pierce whose nicknamed was "The Truth" did not just speak his mind, but he has already proven his words. Since he was drafted in 1998 by Boston Celtics, he stayed with the Celtics for 10 years before they finally won the championship in 2008. Although later Boston Celtics traded him to Brooklyn Nets after 15 years in 2013, but Pierce has practiced what he preached.

However, the NBA nowadays is much different than it was 10 to 20 years ago. As many star players left their team to chase championship in other team.

Durant, whom Pierce criticized was drafted in 2007 by Seattle Supersonics, which in 2008 relocated to Oklahoma to become the Oklahoma City Thunder. After nine years in the same team, he is thinking about joining the better team who can guarantee championship, and Golden State Warriors is his choice.

Many people compare his signing with the Warriors to LeBron James left Cavaliers in 2010 to join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami Heat.
