Singing sensation Rachelle Ann Go will continue her "Les Misérables" journey in her home country in March. She will join the Australian cast when the show begins its Manila run on March 11 until 29 at Solaire Resort and Casino Entertainment City's The Theatre.

It has been a grueling but magical experience for the 29-year-old singer of Chinese-Filipino descent, who has come a long way since she auditioned at an amateur singing contest at the age of nine.

Go has shown her musical prowess in countless instances. She was cast as bar girl Gigi Van Tran in the West End revival of the acclaimed musical "Miss Saigon."

The talented lady who smoothly transitioned from pop music artist to stage actress was ecstatic when she was chosen to play Fantine in London's West End production of the iconic musical in May last year.

Go drew a wide range of audiences, including fellow Filipinos hailing from various parts of the world, who were awed by her live performance in West End Live.

The original production in London, that included Lea Salonga, Nick Jonas, Samantha Barks and other international artists, was a record-breaking box office success.

The "Les Misérables" Hollywood movie released in 2012 likewise drew much attention, with Anne Hathaway portraying Fantine and Amanda Seyfried playing Cosette.

Many viewers enjoyed the movie set against the backdrop of 19th-century revolutionary France, as the actors/actresses belted out classic songs like "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "Do You Hear the People Sing?" and more.

After successful performances in Australia, producer Cameron Mackintosh is thrilled that he is bringing the production to the Philippines.

Mackintosh recalled the "wonderfully rewarding relationship" he has had with Filipino talents, and is elated that "Les Misérables" will unfold in full splendor in Manila, Broadway World reported.

Go will join "Les Misérables" Australian cast members Emily Langridge and Kerrie Anne Greenland, who share Go's sentiments of joy and gratitude in gaining friends and the opportunity of being part of the "Les Misérables" cast, as well as Simon Gleeson, Earl Carpenter and other actors.

Apart from the supercharged performances of members of the Asian Tour, the added appeal of the show is that the creative team has reimagined "Les Misérables" for the global audience in the 21st century, Rappler reported.

Everything from the set and sound design to the powerful, heartfelt performances and energy of the performers make "Les Misérables" a must-see.
