Johnny Depp is selling his Los Angeles penthouses for $12.7 million which was on the list a month ago on the wake of his nasty divorce from actress Amber Heard.
The critically acclaimed actor has listed his five side-by-side 11,500 square foot penthouses in a 1930 Art Deco building which is located in the old downtown area of Los Angeles, CNN reported. The units were designed by renowned Claud Beelman who adorned the place with eclectic decorations of splashy murals, colorful furniture, and unique mementos.
The units are in one of Los Angeles' most iconic buildings styled in turquoise terra cotta and gold leaf tiles. It also features a tower where "Eastern" and a clock can be seen for miles around, The Washington Post reported. The entrance to the building is "ZigZag Moderne" including a fluted panel grand lobby and antique mirrors.
This is just one of the many properties that he's selling off including the two other mansions he owns in Venice and in France.
He bought the residence in 2007 soon after the building was converted into an apartment building, acquiring the rest over the proceeding few years. After which he added doorways to connect the apartments together. One of the penthouses is kept as a guest residence and another as an art and media studio.
It is also said that secret passageways were built for the actor so he can conveniently move from one unit to the other. Other than that, the building has a rooftop swimming pool where one can relax and take in the stunning view of L.A.'s mountains and contemporary downtown scene.
Although this listing is linked to the actor's recent divorce with wife Amber Heard, it is nothing else but a savvy business move from Depp as he purchased the property at the price of $7.2 million.
The units are being sold as one, but the actor is willing to sell it individually. In fact, Johnny Depp has already pocketed $2.545 for one of the five penthouses which was sold a week ago. Whether it was because it was owned by the mysterious actor or because it was one of the finest Art Deco building in L.A., either way, this showstopper is selling quickly.
