The latest chapter of "Tokyo Ghoul:re" features three deadly encounters between ghouls and the members of CCG. Each encounter has different results which lead to bigger mysteries in the ongoing manga.
Chapter 97 of "Tokyo Ghoul:re" can be read online through Manga Stream. The chapter starts with the revelation that the masked ghoul is actually Irimi and she finds herself fighting Itou. Irimi switches with Tsukiyama where the latter easily deals damage to Itou's teammate, Kuroiwa.
Because of the switch, Itou ends up facing Naki and Miza. Itou instructs Kuroiwa to take advantage of his spare weapon but was immediately attacked and got pierced near his eyes. Irimi ends up fighting Ui and even though he is about to take full advantage of a distracted Irimi, an unknown figure arrives to defend her.
On the other hand, Kurona and Nishiki dodge an attack from Roma and successfully cut off her kagune. Before receiving another deadly blow, Roma asks for Shikorae's help who was ultimately revealed to have multiple types of kagune. Although Roma notes that the multiple kagune types of Shikorae is remarkable, Shikorae ends up running away from the CCG.
The fight of Urie and Amon continues with the help of Hsiao. The kuai ¼ blade of Hsiao combined with the relentless attacks of Urie's ginkui was just too much for Amon. Saiko also attacked Amon before Urie's ginkui destroys the upper body of the ghoul.
The forum discussion in Manga Helpers is focused on two possible scenarios for chapter 98. The mysterious hooded figure who saves Irimi from a direct attack could finally be the Ken Kaneki or the One Eyed King. A big showdown between Itou and Kaneki could happen in the future chapters.
Amon's situation is also getting worst every chapter and the latest could be his end. A hooded figure arriving in time to save Irima could help the rest of the ghouls especially Amon.
