The highly popular anime series "Attack on Titan" is finally returning for another season. However, fans have to be a little bit patient since it's expected that the series returns spring next year. The upcoming season will feature more titans and revelations on the titans' past especially Eren's history.
"Attack on Titan" is coming back in 2017 according to Anime News Network. Slated for spring release, the hit manga series featuring man eating titans will hit the small screen in spring. The series will run under director Tetsuro Araki and storyboard artist Masashi Koizuka who were also involved in the series' first season.
For the unfamiliar, the anime series is based on a manga of the same name. Although it mainly focuses on the Eren Jaeger, the series also focuses on human conditions especially in the face of incredible odds. The anime is also known for its graphic depiction of deaths especially the titans' ability to eat humans without hesitation.

The first season of "Attack on Titan" focuses on the transformation of Eren from one of the citizens to a major player in the defense and attack against the titans. In the series, Eren was revealed to be a titan himself. But aside from Eren's revelation as a Titan, the human struggle in the face of horrifying conditions is also carefully chronicled.
According to My Anime List, the series ran for 25 episodes and it covers roughly 34 chapters in its manga source. As of this writing, the manga is currently on chapter 86 which gives the studio more than enough materials for another season.
If the series stays true to its original material, the upcoming season will feature more titans. But aside from learning that some humans can transform into titans, additional information especially on their origins and their traits are revealed. Eren's role in defending humans increases and he slowly learns about his father's past.
The long await anime series returns in spring of 2017. Based on the long running manga, "Attack on Titan" continues to chronicle the story of the attacking titans as their past is revealed.
