The final season of the CW’s long time favorite “The Vampire Diaries” opened with a time-honored vampire tradition: Damon and Enzo tricking unsuspecting young lovers into thinking that they hit you with their car and then feeding on them when they get out to check on you. This is what they called the good old “body in the road” trick.

These young lovers were then brought by the two to their warehouse of horrors where they feed on them and toss them to the monster lurking in a bloodbath. While all of these are going on, Stefan and Caroline are making out in bed to make up for the lost time. They enjoyed every inch of each other and kept the romance alive with the sweet kisses and a lot of touching.

Meanwhile, Bonnie is hiding in her cabin strumming the guitar and for all its worth seemed lost and depressed. In her journal to Elena, Bonnie lamented how their friends are trying to live a normal life in the midst of all the difficulty they have encountered in finding the missing men.

After the steamy session, Caroline left for work but not until she saw on her phone that a body was found. She hurriedly updated Stefan on the latest gruesome discovery. Stefan and Bonnie then proceeded to the scene of the crime.

When Bonnie scrutinize the victim, she saw that the rope in her neck is a guitar string. She thought this could be Enzo’s way of leaving breads of crumbs leading to their whereabouts and save the tow of them from the evil vault monster. Bonnie also learned that there is wax on the victim’s ears which piqued her curiosity.

Stefan then ventured out on his own to the manslaughter house which caused the river turned red. He quickly found his older brother Damon who is possessed and still gorgeous. Damon then told Stefan that he can no longer be saved. Bonnie, who happened to have followed Stefan, stepped into the brothers and Stefan used a mop to stab Damon. But Enzo arrived and punched Stefan on the face. Damon, who has just recovered, grabbed Bonnie by the neck and forced to leave.

Meanwhile, Caroline received a call that night from the nanny who cannot seem to come in contact with Alaric. Seline thinks she hears Ric at the door but no one is there. To make matters worse, the knife on the table mysteriously disappeared.

As Seline headed off to investigate, someone crept behind and slit her neck with her knife. It was Virgina, who have escaped from the hospital. Caroline heard Seline being attacked over the phone, and in a state of panic, bolted home from the news station in an effort to protect her daughters from this lethal menace. Caroline found the nanny’s dead body sprawled across the kitchen floor and Virginia St. John hunting her kids.

Thankfully, Caroline was able to zip on in and slammed Virginia against the wall before she could harm the twins. After making sure the girls are safe and successfully reviving the nanny with vampire blood, Caroline took a breather. Afterwards, she cleaned up the mess in the kitchen and compelled Seline to take the girls out for ice cream sundaes while she interrogated Virginia.

When asked why she is after her kids, Virginia uttered some cryptic remarks. “It has come for them,” she stated, right before she bit off her own tongue and bleed out all over the floor.

Bonnie then had a eureka moment realizing the what the clues Enzo is leaving were all about. That Damon and Enzo are being controlled by a Siren who were considered messengers of the devil who used mind control to lure their victims to a tragic demise. The episode then closed with the Siren revealing her gorgeous self to Damon and Enzo.

“The Vampire Diaries” airs 8 PM Fridays on the CW.
