The good guys in "Vampire Diaries" will take a dark turn in Season 8 led by the show's newest villain, Sybil.
By the end of Season 7, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) found themselves stringing up the bodies of their countless victims. In an interview, Malarkey let it slip that the two will go on a killing rampage in "Season 8," Showbiz Junkies reported.
"How we left off last season was Damon and Enzo going on this killing rampage. We will find out why and what they're driven by and it's something to do with this new supreme evil that has been lurking in the vault, that has escaped the vault," he said.
Said "new supreme evil" is named as Sybil (to be played by Nathalie Kelley). Sybil is a power monger who is into "twisted games and tests for her own amusement and glorification," TV Line reported. In an interview with executive producer Julie Palec went to say that the character has the ability to strip away every good thing about a person.
Palec also let it slip that the rest of the characters will go on a rescue mission to save Damon and Enzo. Bonnie, Stefan and Caroline will work as a group which could also lead to Bonnie getting her magic back.
Meanwhile, actress Nina Dobrev is rumored to come back for an episode since it will be the last season of the series. The actress has yet to confirm yet but fans do not lose their hopes because of Palec's constant teasing of her return.
"Vampire Diaries" will return for Season 8 on Oct. 21, 2016.
