Anthony Davis score 50 and 45 points in the first two games of regular season, breaking Michael Jordan's record for the highest score at the starts of season. However, he was unable to help Pelicans to win the games. Pelicans lost in their first thee games against Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs.

Despite his effort to bring New Orleans Pelicans to the elite level, but Davis is unable to single handedly lift the team. He made a tremendous 45 points in the Friday night’s game against Warriors after previously putting up 50 points against the Nuggets, as reported by FOX Sports. But Pelicans lost both games in their home stadium Smoothie King Center, New Orleans.

His 50 points against Denver Nuggets and 45 points against the Warriors broke Jordan’s previous record of the highest opening games score. Davis surpassed Jordan’s 91 points for the most points scored by single player in the first two opening games in the history of modern NBA. Regardless his hard work and record breaking score, the Pelicans still lost 102-107 against Denver Nuggets and 114-122. against the Golden State Warriors.

Head coach Alvin Gentry need to work on the Pelicans offense and rotation as they lost again for the third time in the season opener. San Antonio Spurs easily defeated them 98-79 on Saturday at AT&T Center, Sant Antonio, as reported by Los Angeles Times.

Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard successfully neutralized Davis and limited his scoring to 18 points. While the rest of the Pelicans team were overwhelmed by the Spurs.

After two amazing nights Davis was unable to deliver another remarkable performance in the third game. Moreover, his opponent, Leonard, the two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year is known to be a very strong defender. Leonard scored 20 points in the game and kept Davis in check in the entire game. Consequently, Anthony Davis was unable to bring back his high scoring in the game against San Antonio Spurs.
