The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar has four Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports as well. Apple stated that all four of the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports deliver full performance.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro without Touch Bar has two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports. Both of them have no problems as they are operating on full functionality.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar has fewer capabilities. It supports full performance on the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports on the left side. The two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports on the right deliver Thunderbolt 3 functionality. However, they have a reduced PCI Express bandwidth. The reason behind that was not revealed by Apple but it is assumed that it is possibly because of the hardware limitations it has.
This means users can use and plug high-powered devices on left side ports of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. While on the two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports on the right, lesser power consuming devices and accessories can be plugged.
The late-2016 MacBook Pro with full capacity Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports supports a daisy chain. That means several wirings can be attached to a single linear electrical source. It makes the MacBook Pro more powerful as many devices can be plugged and charged all at once.
Even a large LG 4K or 5K monitor could be attached to the latest MacBook Pro and can have the laptop charged at the same time. The ports on the monitor then can be used to attach external storage devices and accessories.
All the USB- C port on the new MacBook Pro lineup offers the USB 3.1 Gen. 2 connectivity according to Mac Rumors. It is capable of transferring speed for up to 10 Gb/ second.
Every USB- C port has a capability of charging the MacBook Pro laptop. Whenever multiple devices are charged from the MacBook Pro at one single time, the laptop will pull power from the highest rated charger.
