The cute and adorable Sakura will find its way again to Nakayoshi magazine pages. As a bonus, "Cardcaptor Sakura" will also be having a new anime.
Nakayoshi magazine's most recent issue discloses that a new project for "Cardcaptor Sakura" is in the process. The new enterprise was first revealed in the Nakayoshi magazine's July 2016 issue. The initial series scanned the pages of Nakayoshi which started May 1996 up to June 2000 reaching an entirely 12 collected volumes equal to 70 episodes.
Sakura is a ten-year-old girl who lives a normal life with his older brother, Toya together with their widowed father, Fujitaka. But things changed the way it is when she found a shining book in her father's library. Due to her curiosity, she opened the book and released the cards from within. Because of the incident, her mission is to capture all of the magical cards and try to live the normal life of a fourth grader.
According to Anime News Network, 2016 marks the 20th anniversary of Cardcaptor Sakura's original manga. Series maker CLAMP released the "Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Hen" sequel manga series on June 3 in the exact July issue. The manga was created after Sakura graduated from Tomoeda Elementary School and now a first-year junior high school where she saw a mysterious dream and an event took place.
Along with the celebration of the manga's 2-decade anniversary, "Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie" will arrive in Japanese theaters once again on January 21, 2017. To recall, "Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie" is the pioneer movie in CLAMP's Cardcaptor Sakura franchise. It debuted in Japan in 1999 and the movie was made a home video in 2002 by Geneon. Discotek licensed Cardcaptor Sakura: The Movie in 2013 and was released on a home video in 2014.
In regards to the new anime, Crunchyroll reported that as of the moment, there is no disclosed information on when the new anime will premiere on TV or will it be direct-to-video. No idea as well for the meantime if it's going to be an adaptation or will it be tied in with the existing Clear Card Arc or a remake.
It looks like that CLAMP is gathering all its sources for the celebration of Cardcaptor Sakura's 20th anniversary. Fans are now very excited for the airing of the new anime. If they loved the manga, there is no reason for them not to love the new anime as well and go crazy about it.
