According to Uproxx, Rousey made her announcement while being interviewed by Ellen on "The Ellen Degeneres Show." In the show, Rousey confirmed that the upcoming bout is "definitely one of my last fights."
Although Rousey's announcement has been unexpected, Dana White knows that the end is near for the popular female fighter. According to Washington Post, Dana White notes that Rousey will eventually leave the fighting career and will most likely focus on acting. White also said that Rousey has already achieved significant financial gain from the sport and will move on other areas of interest.
Rousey is one of the most popular fighters in the MMA but her career took a significant turn in November 2015. Before the fight, Rousey was an unbeatable fighter who won all her fights either by submission and knock-out. Rousey was clearly the favored fighter to win but Holly Holm knocked her out in the second round.
Since the defeat, Rousey avoided the limelight for some time. But even though she was out of news for months, she also revealed to Ellen that she has been training since August and fully prepared for the fight.
