108 years later - Chicago Cubs finally end their scourge in a very dramatic, yet gratifying win over the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday night. An 8-7, 10-inning victory brings out the greatest World Series Game 7, tagging Cubs as 2016 World Series Champions.

Despite taking a three-run lead in the eighth inning, highlighted with a glorious home run by Rajai Davis off Aroldis Chapman, the Indians got blown off in the 10th inning by two runs on a double by the series' most valuable player, Ben Zobrist, and a single by Miguel Montero, described by The New York Times as "a little more torment". After replacing Carl Edwards, reliever Mike Montgomery caused a groundout from Michael Martinez, allowing third baseman, Kris Bryant, to easily seize the ball and pass it on to first baseman, Anthony Rizzo. This decided the outcome of the game, leading to the uproar of the entire baseball stadium.

The Cubs made a fierce comeback after suffering a 3-1 series deficit, making them the first team to do it since Kansas City achieved it in 1985. They also bore a 5-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning, which no team has ever attained in a Game 7 since 1924.

In their pursuit to win, the Cubs had to overcome two of the most dominant pitchers in the postseason, Indian's Corey Kluber and reliever Andrew Miller. Despite the delay in the ninth inning caused by the sudden rainfall, the Cubs still prevailed, even considering this as a "divine intervention", as quoted from Cubs general manager, Jed Hoyer.

The Cubs filled up social media thereafter, and brought about an outburst of emotions. Sports Center on twitter then pronounced and congratulated the Cubs, posting a photo from their last win in 1908, and their present victory. Rizzo later says in an interview that this is, indeed, the best game he has ever been a part of and ever even seen.

After a century-long wait, the Cubs have finally redeemed glory in the World Series Championship. This is definitely one for the books for the state of Chicago.
