The CW's first superhero series "Arrow" is reportedly hiring science fiction staple actress for the role of Talia al Ghul. This means a daughter of Ra’s al Ghul will now join the fray in Sterling City, and may become the next foe of Team Arrow.
TV Line reported that Lexa Doig, an actress whose TV credits include but are not limited to "Andromeda", "Continuum", "Stargate SG-1" and "The 4400", has been cast in the recurring role of Talia al Ghul. From the last name itself, it is already obvious that she will be another daughter of Ra’s al Ghul and half-sister of Nyssa. The character is described as worldly and cultured unlike her father and sister, and Talia is “an elite warrior who does not pick sides but rather creates her own.
According to Den of Geek, Talia al Ghul first appeared in Detective Comics #411 in 1971, and she was created by Dennis O'Neil, Bob Brown, and Dick Giordano. While she is the daughter of one of Batman's greatest nemesis, Talia has a soft spot for Bruce Wayne and has actually aided him in the past.
In fact, this soft part of Talia towards Gotham city's billionaire vigilante led her to bear his child, Damian Wayne. She has also been a player in other media versions of Batman including "Batman: The Animated Series" and the 2012 film "The Dark Knight Rises", where she was played by actress Marion Cotillard.
