Brad Pitt's recent court filing means a difficult day ahead for Angelina Jolie who sought sole custody of all their six children when she filed for divorce from her husband of two years. Divorce attorney however said the actor was merely expressing intent; not a formal request of custody.

The highly publicized divorce of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has yet again taken center stage when the actor filed a joint legal and physical custody responding to Jolie's divorce filing. This could result to a complex battle according to legal expert (who does not represent either of the two parties).

Christopher Melcher, a divorce lawyer, said Brad Pitt's response could mean a lot of different things. Jolie checked a box for sole custody while Pitt checked the joint custody box. It's merely notifying the other party what his intentions are. It also shows he's prepared to defend himself in the divorce proceeding, People reported.

Melcher admitted this is an unusual move for a high profile divorce as the Jolie-Pitt's because usually, the party that files for divorce gives the other an open ended extension so they can settle things quietly.

Jolie responded with a "monitored visitation", Daily Mail UK reported. She plans to restrict his visitations to their six children. Although neither of the two has confirmed the plane incident that Pitt was getting investigated for, this latest updates just confirmed the news.

According to the reports, supervised visitations are for cases where there is high risk for the children involved that's why they can only be accessed in a safe and supervised environment.

The actor is wary of the length of this legal proceeding as it could have psychological effects on the children. The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Service is still in the process of their investigation regarding the alleged abusive confrontation inside a plane that occurred between Pitt and eldest son Maddox. It was also reported that the outcome of the investigation will depend on the outcome of the divorce procedure.

Pitt is currently in the works of fixing his relationship with Maddox who was reportedly only defending his mother during the heated conversation at the plane.

Jolie is still angry at Pitt for his alleged anger and substance abuse issues. She has hired two heavyweight lawyers for this case.
