BTS member V is drawing a lot of attention after he supposedly pulled the hair of a fan at a fan signing event.
A GIF circulating on the internet featured how V was pulling and shaking the hair of the fan, resulting to mixed response from the netizens. V was later stopped by his co-member Jin, who cut him off by putting his arm in between him and the fan, Allkpop reported.
Many netizens thought the behavior was "unacceptable," bombarding the BTS member with hate comments for his act. However, the fan involved in the controversy came to rescue V and revealed the story behind their encounter.
"I am the person who is in the controversial video. First of all, I am a longtime fan of BTS, so I have known Taehyung (V) oppa for a long time, we are friendly and goof around a lot," the fan wrote.
She further explained that she was delighted to see her idol that time, adding that it was her first time to attend a fan event after a long time. The fan also thought V jokingly tugged her hair out of enthusiasm of seeing her at the fan signing event.
"One thing I want to clarify is that he did not pull my hair. He just tugged it enough for me to lift my head, and I am lowering my head not because of pain, but because I was a bit embarrassed to be photographed. So please stop saying bad things about Taehyung oppa," she said.
Meanwhile, V and the rest of BTS are overwhelmed with the success of their newest album "WINGS" and title track "Blood, Sweat & Tears." In the recent episode of "Entertainment Weekly," the members thanked their fans for their all-out support, Soompi noted.
Reports claimed BTS has broken several records for "WINGS" and "Blood, Sweat & Tears." Thus, the Bangtan Boys are asking their fans for continuous support of their newest release.
