Recent news has revealed that EA DICE's Patrick Bach is leaving. Bach has been with the company for 14 years and has worked on games such as "Star Wars: Battlefront" and especially, the "Battlefield" series.
It was confirmed by itself EA in a report by PlayStation Lifestyle that Bach, the general manager of EA DICE's Stockholm studio and studio veteran was out, marking "Battlefield 1" as his last project.
"I've had an epic ride at DICE and EA, filled with amazingly creative and passionate people, and unforgettable experiences with our player community," Bach mentioned. "I'll certainly be playing Battlefield 1 for a long, long time to come, and I look forward to seeing what's next from the incredible team at DICE."
PC Games N reported that some could only surmise that the studio manager would either move to a different venture in game development or something similar. But, it was already confirmed that Bach left to spend more time with his family.
Executive vice president for EA Worldwide Studios, Patrick Söderlund gave his best wishes to DICE's recently former manager:
"Patrick Bach has been a great colleague to many across DICE and EA for almost 15 years. We thank him for all of his contributions, especially to our Battlefield franchise and community, and wish him all the best on his next adventure."
Back in 2002, Bach worked on his first project for DICE as lead designer for "RalliSport Challenge 2." When he moved up the ladder in production, Bach helped in shipping the "Battlefield" series, such as "Battlefield: Bad Company," and then its sequel, and then "Battlefields 3 and 4."
By April 2014, Patrick Bach was promoted to manage DICE after the launch of "Battlefield 4."
After being in the position for two years and eight months, the studio head decided to leave the company. So far, there hasn't been any news on his replacement.
