Yakuza producer, Toshihiro Nagoshi has just announced that Sega's famous "Yakuza" series is going to have a live-action drama and is already in production. Yakuza 6 will have a live streaming today. A drama scene from "Yakuza 6" tells of Majima and Saejima exploring the town of Kamuro.
Details about the upcoming "Yakuza" live-action drama are scarce but it is expected that further details will be announced at the two-day Sega Fes 2016 that will start from November 19 to 20. The concept of having a live-action action drama for the Yakuza series is not new. As a matter of fact, the franchise already had a TV drama titled "Yakuza: Black Panther," Gematsu reported.
There was also an announcement made by Sega that on December 7, a full showcase event will be hosted at Toho Cinemas Shinjuku which will start at 13:00 to 14:00 Japan time. Included will be an early screening of the most recent trailer along with a talk show that will feature the casts of the game inviting 66 fans to participate.
According to WWG, the new live-action drama will be quite similar to the Yakuza Black Panther 2 of 2012 series. The adaptation of "Yakuza" live-action drama for the TV show is considerably great since "Yakuza 6" is coming to PlayStation 4 in Japan this coming December 8. For the time being, there is no release date disclosed for the US release for Sega has shown interest given the fact that "Yakuza" is quite popular in America.
Sega developed and published "Yakuza" for the PlayStation 2 and was launched in Japan in 2005 and was released overseas in 2006. The story revolves around Kazuma Kiryu, a yakuza jailed for 10 years for admitting a crime he did not commit to save his best friend Akira Nishiki from getting jailed.
More details will be revealed in the two-day Sega Fes 2016 regarding the live-action drama adaptation of "Yakuza" that runs from November 19 to 20. "Yakuza 6" will arrive on PS4 in Japan on December 8.
