Far from his tough-looking character in “Moonlight Drawn by the Clouds”, Hallyu star Kwak Dong Yeon is just like anyone of us who experiences anxieties. During his recent interview, the actor admits that he avoids appearing on variety shows because he is scared that he might put himself in sudden situations wherein he might get embarrassments.
Kwak explained that he had once revealed on “Radio Star” that actress Kim So Hyun is his ideal type. Because of this, the Hallyu star felt like he had led the viewers to misunderstandings and have hurt himself as well.
“I was also hurt a lot [on variety shows]. Nothing is promised on variety shows, so I'm afraid of sudden situations. I don't know what questions I'll be asked so I might make a verbal mistake, and I also don't have confidence in terms of humor," said Kwak as quoted by All Kpop.
He added: "For 'I Live Alone', I told my label that I don't want to go on it at first. It was unfamiliar to think that many people will be watching my daily life. But I was told that they will simply film my day and air it after editing so that's how I got to be on it. I'll go on variety shows that I can enjoy without making mistakes, but the ones where I have to create stories are hard."
Meanwhile, Kwak has recently appeared in the November 3 episode of KBS’s “Happy Together” together with his “Moonlight Drawn by the Clouds” co-stars Han Soo Yeon, Ahn Se Ha, and B1A4’s Jinyoung, Soompi reports. During the show, the 19-year-old star talked about Park Bo Gum and even revealed his flaw which is spilling rice when he eats.
Kwak made his entertainment debut in 2012 after being casted in the TV drama series “My Husband Got a Family”. Aside from being an actor, he is also a musician.
