The Bulls overcame the absence of starting point guard Rajon Rondo, who is out with a left ankle sprain, with the inspired performance of Jimmy Butler, who led the team with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists.
Butler was backed up by the backcourt combo of Dwyane Wade and Jerian Grant. Wade had 19 points, five boards, five assists, two steals, and one block while Grant contributed 18 points, three rebounds, two assists, and five steals.
"I was talking to D-Wade before the game and he tells me to go out with a killer instinct, make them adjust to you - go out with a full head of steam and show them why you are one of the best players in the league," said Butler after the game. "That's what I try to do. Having D-Wade tell me that makes me think there is some truth to it."
Chicago dominated the game right from the start, building a 35-14 lead after the first period. The lead ballooned to as much as 26 points as they coasted to their third straight victory.
Meanwhile, the Jazz lost to the Memphis Grizzlies, 102-96, on Monday also at their home court of Vivint Smart Home Arena, the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
