Sri Lankan actress Jacqueline Fernandez was recently spotted getting close to "Bigg Boss 9" star Salman Khan. The incident has instigated frenzied speculation. Fans and media outlets are wondering why Fernandez looked so desperate to get close to Khan.
At Filmfare awards held on Jan. 15, the "Roy" actress was noticed showering all her attention to Khan. An actress told entertainment and celebrity gossip publication Bollywood Life that the "Roy" actress kept "rushing to him backstage." Here, both the actors were making final preparations before they take the stage for their live performances at the awards ceremony.
"We've seen other actresses cosy up to Salman. Lot of actresses are thriving in Bollywood thanks to Khan promoting them. Seeing Jacqueline's behaviour that evening, we could say she could be the honorary member of that club," the actress said.
As for Khan, he didn't seem to be paying much attention to Fernandez's attention-seeking behaviour. The source to abovementioned publication notes that Khan "was on his own trip at the awards. He seemed happy in his own company."
Fernandez and Khan have co-starred in 2014's "Kick." A sequel is in the works wherein Khan will reprise the role of leading male character. However, there is no word on who is going to be starring opposite Khan. Whether Fernandez will return in the leading actress' role or will there be a new face remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, rumours suggest that Fernandez is anxious about starring in "Kick 2." "Ever since Salman half-jokingly said Jacqueline won't be in Kick 2 she has been feeling the pinch," a friend of Khan told the publication. According to the actor's friend, Fernandez attention-seeking and "over-friendly" behaviour at the awards ceremony showed Fernandez's anxiety to get into the movie.
In 2015, rumours surfaced that "Singh is Bling"
actress Amy Jackson could replace Fernandez in "Kick 2." In an interview with Catch News, Jackson revealed that she was offered the film. However, her commitment to Shankar for her upcoming regional film "I" did not allow her to take the new project.
During the interview, the actress disclosed that she has been a huge fan of Khan even before she entered Bollywood and she hopes that someday she gets an opportunity to act with Khan.
"Kick 2" is still in pre-production stage. Speaking about the film's story, Khan once told DNA that he will be appearing in a double role in the movie. A source told the publication that his "one character is a positive one, while the other is an out-and-out villain."
