While we do know that "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" and "Star Wars: Episode VIII" has already been in production and reports of a "Han Solo" spin-off film have surfaced, Lucasfilm actually had a  "Boba Fett Star Wars Anthology" movie in the making before getting scrapped at the last minute.

According to Entertainment Weekly, a teaser was supposed to be shown during the Star Wars Celebration 2015 alongside an official announcement, before getting cancelled at the last minute in which a split between "Fantastic Four" director Josh Trank and Disney took place. Trank has reportedly face troubles resulting to his departure with the project after dealing with the box office failure of 2015's "Fantastic Four."

Trank actually was setting his sights on the Anthology film that follows after "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." This would've meant that the "Han Solo" spin-off film would move up the schedule from 2020 to 2018, according to IGN.

While it's still unclear where the potential "Boba Fett" film lies, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has this to say: "There are [possible movies] that we have been talking a lot about. But we are planning to sit down in January, since we will have had 'The Force Awakens' released, 'now Rogue One,' and we've finished shooting 'Episode VIII.'"

She went on to say: "We have enough information where we can step back a little bit and say, What are we doing? What do we feel is exciting? And what are some of the things we want to explore?"

While we wait for any confirmation on the "Boba Fett" film," Rogue One" will be released in the US on Dec. 16, "Star Wars: Episode VIII" directed by Rian Johson is due for a Dec. 15, 2017 release, while the "Han Solo" film - starring Alden Ehrenreich as the titular hero, and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian - will be released on May 25, 2018.
