HBO on Monday has released a preview of their 2017 programming slate. One of the highlights of the clip teases the possibility of a reunion among the Stark siblings: Jon, Arya and Sansa on "Game of Thrones" Season 7.
The arrival of this news couldn't have come at a better time. Fans of "Game of Thrones" have been dying to hear some solid developments about the hit fantasy series' penultimate season for months now. Although there have been a few rumors that emerged in the past weeks, an official footage from the cable network still holds a different impact.
While HBO did not give away much, their decision to highlight the mere presence of the Starks is already a big deal. After the clip was dropped, the fansite Watchers on the Wall shared the screen grabs of Jon, Sansa and Arya from HBO's 'Coming in 2017' promo.
As one might have expect, the footage shown was filmed on a winter setting. The Starks appeared a bit emotional on the shots, as if they are worried of a looming threat.
At this point, it's a big question as to why HBO intended to highlight the Starks and not the Lannisters nor Daenerys on the preview. Is this a sign that they will reunite at one point in Season 7? Or do they just want to mislead the fans from a much bigger reveal?
As previously reported, there was a rumor that "Game of Thrones" will feature an ambush sequence in Season 7. The set report claims that it will be Daenerys' forces will lead the attack against the Lannisters.
If this turns out to be true, it will be interesting to see how the aftermath of this ambush will play out for the Starks.
