Following the release of 'Wonder Woman" and "The Flash", the king of the world underneath the seas is also heading for the big screen in 2018 through "Aquaman". While commercial success of the film is still uncertain, unlike that of "Wonder Woman" and "The Flash", the film adaptation of Justice League's deposed king of the ocean world and fallen hero is getting interesting names signing up for roles.
According to a report from Screen Rant, the announcement of Amber Heard signing up for the role of Aquaman's love interest has definitely piqued the interest of the public. The film's prospects looked even brighter after it was revealed that James Wan, director of "Furious 7"; and the first two installments of horror blockbusters "Insidious" and "Conjuring" would be taking the reins of the project.
Curiosity of fans peaked even higher after DC revealed Amber Heard's photos in full Mera costume. DC Comics are hoping that something special is being brewed between Jason Momoa's Aquaman and Amber Heard's Mera. After all, the two comprised DC Extended Universe's power couple.
In an effort to achieve synergy among DC properties, the animated versions of Aquaman and Mera will also appear in the Valentine's cover of Teen Titans Go! Magazine due for release next year. However, the cover really centers on the relationship of Robin and Starfire, with other superhero couples figuring in the background.
While the actual "Aquaman" film is still due for release in 2018, fans can already get a sneak peek of the character as Jason Momoa is set to play the role in the upcoming "Justice League" movie to be released next year, 2017. However, there are still no reports as to the plot and story of Aquaman's origin story film. But fans are still hoping that DC would do a right job, this time.
