Earlier this year, production of "Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure" was put into halt after "Teen Wolf" star Dylan O'Brien, who plays the film's main character, figured in an accident while shooting action scenes for the movie. Fortunately, the actor has now recovered from the injuries and is reportedly back to work.
But sightings of the actor shooting is not for "Maze Runner 3" but for another film "American Assassin". The video from Daily Dylan O'Brien Twitter account showed the actor looking well while filming scenes for the upcoming thriller. It was reported that O'Brien fractured either his cheekbone or orbital socket after a stunt sequence went awry.
This is the first time the actor came out for work after his accident at the set of "Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure". O'Brien had to be confined in the intensive care in order to recover from his serious injuries for a few months. Thereafter, production for "Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure" was forced to go into hiatus and its resumption was uncertain.
But in an exclusive report from Deadline, the production of "Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure" starring Dylan O'Brien will resume in February 2017. This means FOX is now pushing for the film's release, moving it from the original February 2017 play date to January 2018.
The "Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure" will be under the direction of Wes Ball and from the script of T.S. Nowlin. The film is part of the big screen adaptation on the popular series of books by James Dashner.
"The Death Cure" is the third and final book in "The Maze Runner" trilogy following "The Maze Runner 2: The Scorch Trials" released in 2015. The first installment of the film franchise "The Maze Runner" was released in 2014.
"The Maze Runner" earned $348 million from worldwide receipts from a production budget of only $34 million. The sequel "The Maze Runner 2: The Scorch Trials" is still a commercial success, earning $312 million for its worldwide total.
