New Line Cinemas will be having another movie in its lineups that will be directed by "San Andreas" director Brad Peyton: A film adaptation of the video game "Rampage."

In an interview with We Got This Covered, the director really expressed his enthusiasm in helming the project. Peyton also mentioned that the classic giant monstrous trio will be returning once again from the original, this on the big screen in movie theaters, most likely in cutting edge CGI renders. "There's the three, the lizard, the ape and the wolf, so we're keeping it similar," the director said.

The director, expressed his love for the "love of the original game" as the source of inspiration for monster-destruction film "Rampage." Since we already had seen movies like "Cloverfield," "Pacific Rim," and "Godzilla," we don't see how a movie like "Rampage" wouldn't work.

Peyton added that the film "is really going to surprise people in what it delivers," just like how he directed his previous disaster/drama movie "San Andreas."

"It's going to be a lot more emotional, a lot scarier and a lot more real than you'd expect," Peyton went on, discussing the film's story concept, which might involve something akin to "a lab that affects these animals and makes them rampage."

Peyton also has another more recent upcoming film called "Incarnate," a horror movie that stars Aaron Eckhart, that will be released on Dec.2. This movie also helped the director in producing the mood and feel of "Rampage."

"Obviously, it's a much bigger movie and it's meant for a broader audience," added Peyton. "But there's still horror elements, there's still a monster movie at the core."

Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal will be screenwriting the upcoming adaptation of the 1986 arcade game, with their rewrite just finished this August, according to IGN. The film will also be bringing another element from the "San Andreas" film, who is none other than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson serving as the protagonist.  Beau Flynn will also be on board as producer.
