American rapper Wiz Khalifa and Girls' Generation's Taeyeon are throwing different claims on their cancelled collaboration at the "2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards."
On Dec. 2, fans were shocked upon seeing Wiz Khalifa performing "See You Again" at the "2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards" alone, knowing that the performance was supposed to be a collaboration with Taeyeon.
To address the curiosity of the fans, Taeyeon claimed there was a problem with the music for the performance. As a result, the Girls' Generation member said she "could not do a proper sound check" and that the collaboration has to be cancelled, Soompi reported.
Taeyeon added she only found out her "See You Again" collaboration with Wiz Khalifa at the "2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards" was cancelled just a few hours before the event started.
"There were some unexpected turn of events due to the event being held overseas. I heard that there were issues with the performance equipment the day prior to the show as well as during rehearsal," she added.
The Girls' Generation member went on, "Wiz Khalifa waited for the rehearsal and went to the hotel. It seems like there was an overlap of various problems. I'm sad and feel regret that I had to return without doing a good performance."
Meanwhile, Wiz Khalifa took to his Twitter account to air his own claim of the cancellation. The American rapper said the Girls' Generation member had to go to the hospital the night before the awarding event, Allkpop reported.
He added Taeyeon allegedly asked to perform on a different stage from him before the Korean singer has decided to cancel their collaboration. Despite issue, Wiz Khalifa was commended for his "See You Again" performance at the "2016 Mnet Asian Music Awards."
But the issue did not stop there. Taeyeon countered Wiz Khalifa's claim on the cancellation. In Instagram post, the Girls' Generation member said she did not went to the hospital as contrary to Wiz Khalifa's statement.
"I didn't go to the hospital my friend. I was washing up at this time while waiting for you," Taeyeon posted.
