In the recent episode of "Infinite Challenge," the cast members of the program made a special announcement regarding their plans in 2017.
Soompi reported the cast of "Infinite Challenge" wanted to their viewers to get involved in Korean politics; hence, MC Yoo Jae Suk asked the audience to serve as the National Cabinet of the program.
"Our 2016 project is finished. And in 2017, viewers will act as our National Cabinet. If there is any policy that you wish for South Korea to have, please submit it to our website. I look forward to plenty of participation from our viewers," Yoo told the viewers.
Although the "Infinite Challenge" host refused to give further details about their message, there are speculations that the call has been made in response to the current political gaffe involving Korean President Park Geun Hye.
Several idols have expressed their stand on the political issue, embroiling the Korean President in a controversy for allegedly sharing confidential information to a colleague. Artists like Kim Yoo Jung, Han Seung Yeon and Lee Joon are among those who are protesting for the impeachment of Park, Korea Herald reported.
Some artists have expressed their protest on social media, while others personally joined anti-Park protests in the streets of Korea. An example is singer Yang Hee Eun, who participated in a rally on Nov. 27.
The legendary singer protest by singing some of her hit tracks "Morning Dew" and "Evergreen Tree." Aside from Yang, "Endless Love" actor Cha In Pyo was also spotted in the protest.
"The people have united and are voicing one opinion (the resignation of President Park). But it's frustrating that nothing is changing. One thing that's for sure is that the abnormal cannot overcome what's normal. Abnormal incidents have taken over, but we cannot let them destroy our lives," the actor said.
Also present in the anti-Park protest was comedian Kim Je Dong, who said President Park should be held accountable for allegedly leaking certain documents to Choi Soon Il.
