"Homeland," the spy drama series starring Claire Danes, will introduce an alt right media personality in Season 6.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Tyrant" actor Jake Weber has signed up to play the role of Brett O'Keefe, who's described as an "aggressive and charming anarchist." Since "Homeland" usually deals with current political issues, Weber's character is being mirrored as the fictional version of Trump's presidential campaign CEO Steve Bannon.

No airdate has been set on Weber's first appearance on the hit Showtime series.

Weber's recent TV credits include "Medium," "Hell on Wheels," "Secret and Lies," "The Blacklist" and "Easy."

"Homeland" is moving to New York on its upcoming sixth season. The new bunch of episodes will pick up months after the events of season 5, with Carrie now living in Brooklyn. According to Showtime, the new installment will tackle the aftermath of the US presidential election and the period between Election Day and the inauguration.

The goal of "Homeland" Season 6 is to dive into "a strange, transitional time in the halls of government filled with anxiety and different competing interests, where a very fragile and complex transfer of power takes place between the outgoing president and the incoming president-elect."

In connection with this storyline, the series has tapped Elizabeth Marvel (House of Cards) to play the female president-elect. She will be joined by other new characters inside the political arena including Hill Harper (Limitless) as the president's chief of staff and Robert Knepper (Prison Break) as General Jamie McClendon, a rep from the Department of Defense.

In the case of Peter Quinn, whose fate was up in the air in season 5's finale, has already been confirmed to return by executive producer Alex Gansa. However, his current condition will no longer allow him to work as a spy.

"Quinn is alive - I can say that much. But we want to be really careful about revealing what his condition is," Gansa revealed in a report from TV Line. "He suffered a major stroke last season... so he is a very changed and altered Quinn this year. He had a fairly rough ride last season, no doubt about it."

"Homeland" Season 6 premieres on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 9PM on Showtime.
