The Portland Trail Blazers (12-11) visit the Memphis Grizzlies (15-8) on Dec. 8, Thursday at the FedExForum in a 2016-2017 NBA season match.

Portland has been mercurial this season as they are currently settled in the eighth spot in the Western Conference standings, seven-and-a-half games behind conference leaders Golden State Warriors and two-and-a-half games in front of ninth-place team Los Angeles Lakers.

The Blazers snapped a three-game winning run with a 115-107 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks during their most recent game on Wednesday at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, as per Oregon Live.

Team leader Damian Lillard scored 30 points to lead head coach Terry Stotts' squad in a losing effort. He also had seven rebounds and six assists.

Backcourt partner CJ McCollum backed him up with 23 points, three boards, and five assists while starting center Mason Plumlee had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds with four assists, two steals, and three shot blocks. Starting small forward Maurice Harkless also scored in double digits with 11.

Off the bench, shooting guard Allen Crabbe chipped in 14 points and four rebounds while Meyers Leonard had nine points, three boards, one assist, and one block in only 15 minutes of playing time.

Meanwhile, the Grizzlies escaped with a 96-91 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers also at the FedExForum on Tuesday night, SB Nation reported.

Memphis was again led by Marc Gasol's double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds with three assists, one steal, and two blocked shots. JaMychal Green also had a double-double with 13 points, 10 boards, three assists, two steals, and a block.

Three players scored in double figures off the bench, namely Zach Randolph, Wade Baldwin IV, and Troy Daniels, who had 12, 11, and 10 points respectively.

The Grizzlies continue to miss the services of Mike Conley, who is still out with a back injury, with rookie Andrew Harrison still filling in.

Prediction

Portland is 5-7 in away games so far this season while Memphis is 8-4 at home. A close game is expected between the two sides, but the Grizzlies are predicted to prevail.
