Jason Saggo is entering the octagon for the third time in 2016 - giving him the perfect opportunity in reaching his 3-0 goal before ending the year. But standing in his way is a powerful Russian fighter who also has an impressive record entering the octagon.

Saggo's Personal Challenge in 2016

UFC fighter Jason Saggo is reaching the pinnacle of his career as he fights for the third time in 2016. According to MMA Junkie, Saggo's third fight fits exactly to his career goal this year: going 3-0 in the octagon.

Before his impressive winning streak in 2016, Saggo has struggled in his UFC career. Before his first win in 2016, his last fight was in 2014 and it was against Paul Felder according to his official UFC stat page. Even though he lost only through a split decision, Saggo was not part in any UFC event in 2015 because of Achilles tendon injury.

After a full recovery from the injury, Saggo did not waste time in his return as logged a 1st round TKO against Justin Salas. His next fight was on June 2016 where he also got a win against Leandro Silva via split decision.

Saggo's Bigger Challenge: Rustam Khabilov

While Saggo has set his sight in getting that coveted 3-fight winning streak in 2016, he is going toe-to-toe with an impressive fighter that will really challenge his quest for another win. Saggo will face Rustam Khabilov - a Russian MMA fighter who is also enjoying his personal winning streak. In fact, Khabilov won his last three matches this year and will look to add another win to his record before the end of 2016.

UFC 206 will feature the interim featherweight title fight between Max Halloway and Anthony Pettis. But the undercard fights are also impressive including Saggo and Khabilov who looks to continue their winning streak before the year ends.
