South Korean actor and entertainer Lee Kwang Soo has recently revealed how he prepared for his role in the latest KBS sitcom “Sound of Heart” during the show’s press conference.
Lee shared that he had done an intense workout to look extra fit as his character requires showing some skin in some scenes. He also acknowledged the help that he got from Kim Jong Kook to keep him on track.
According to Lee as quoted by All Kpop: "The director told me that there'll be skin exposure so I worked out a lot. Kim Jong Kookhyung also helped me a lot on working out, but after seeing the web version, I thought, 'Did I work that hard for that? It wasn't really necessary… But there are still a lot of unrevealed scenes with exposure, so please look forward to it.”
Aside from spilling his preparations, the Hallyu star also talked about how he encouraged his close friend Song Jong Ki to appear in the show. In fact, his action has shocked everyone in the set including the producing-director Ha Byung Hoon.
“I asked him if he could appear as a cameo, and he immediately said yes without having even looked at the script… I don’t know if there were many ladies present when we were filming, but there was certainly a lot of people,” said Lee as quoted by Soompi.
Director Ha added: “I asked Lee Kwang Soo to find an actor that was well-recognized and has good acting skills. It was a surprise when Song Joong Ki was casted. I think there was twice the usual number of staff during filming.”
“Sound of Heart” uncovers the story of Jo Suk, portrayed by Lee, and his family. It was first aired on KBS on December 9.
