Talent management agency Jellyfish Entertainment has recently revealed that South Korean singer Kim Se Jung’s maternal grandfather has recently passed away.
The 20-year-old singer is known to have a close relationship with her grandparents. In fact, in her recent appearance KBS “Happy Together” got emotional as she expressed her love for them through a video message. Due to her grandfather’s death, the singer’s schedule will have some changes.
"Kim Se Jung was contacted about the death of her maternal grandfather on the night of the 8th. Therefore, the schedule for KBS2 'Music Bank' have been completed in pre-recording after receiving permission from the broadcast station. Kim Se Jung plans to visit the mortuary today as she did yesterday. Her future schedules are currently in adjustment and if a change occurs, we plan to announce it on the official fan café,” Jellyfish Entertainment said as quoted by All KPop.
Meanwhile, Kim has recently appeared on JTBC's variety show “As You Say”. During her guesting, the singer talked about her family and her thoughts about her separation with IOI.
The KPop star revealed that she and her brother were raised by their mother. However, because of a financial crisis, she had to stay at the house of her grandfather and aunt until they were able to afford to rent a small house.a
According to Kim as quoted by All Kpop: "I came from a home that was not wealthy. My mother had to raise me and my older brother while in a lot of debt. I had to stay in my grandfather's house and my aunt's house, and then we got, for the first time, a small house with monthly rent…Because I lived through that, I learned how to hide my emotions at a young age. That's how a dark child became a part of me".
