The Lakers have lost six straight games after getting to a .500 mark, but they have kept their ninth spot in the Western Conference standings as all the other teams below them have been losing as well.
Los Angeles lost a close 118-112 game to the New York Knicks on Sunday night at the Staples Center, as per CBS Sports.
Lou Williams led head coach Luke Walton's team in scoring once again with 24 points off the bench. He also had six rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Luol Deng led the starters with 22 points, five boards, two assists, and two steals while Julius Randle had a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lakers welcomed back Nick Young and D'Angelo Russell from their injuries and had scored 15 and three points respectively in limited minutes. Jordan Clarkson chipped in 14 points, four boards, and four assists.
Meanwhile, the Kings are also reeling as they are currently on a two-game losing slide and have also lost five of their last six assignments. The team is 11th in the West right now, only a half-game behind the Lakers.
Sacramento was routed by the Utah Jazz, 104-84, in their most recent game last Saturday on the road at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Fox News reported.
Rudy Gay led the Kings with 20 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals while DeMarcus Cousins had a bad game with only 16 points and 10 boards.
Darren Collison chipped in 17 points and two assists as the starting point guard while Omri Casspi had 12 points and five boards off the bench.
Prediction
The Lakers are terrible on the road with a 4-9 record so far this season while the Kings are also poor at home with a 4-6 slate. Both teams are not playing their best basketball at the moment, but the Lakers are predicted to snap their six-game slide.
