Kangta recently appeared on the cooking show called "Please Take Care of My Refrigerator." During the talk segment, he shared his thoughts about the possibility of reuniting with his H.O.T. band-mates and promoting again together.
The singer who belongs to the first generation of idol groups in Korea expressed regret about going solo after H.O.T. disbanded in 2001. His group which composed of four other members namely Moon Hee Jun, Jang Woo Hyuk, Tony Ahn and Lee Jae Won decided to split just after five years of active promotion.
On "Please Take of My Refrigerator," Mwave News quoted Kangta as saying, "After going solo after H.O.T′s disbandment, I thought my popularity would be 1/5 of H.O.T, but I regretted it because it was not even 1/10 of H.O.T′s popularity."
The "Last Summer Night" singer added that he envies former rival group, Shinhwa, because they are still actively promoting together until now. In fact, Shinhwa just released their 13th album entitled "Unchanging" in October, and prior to this the group held a major concert to mark Shinhwa's 16th anniversary in 2014.
After sharing his thoughts, singer Lee Sora, who is also a guest on "Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, asked the H.O.T. member if they are also planning a reunion soon. Kangta said that although there are so many articles being written about their comeback, the members have never once stated that they are having a reunion.
Kangta further said that after seeing how the other first generation idol groups successfully made their comebacks, he is now seriously contemplating on putting H.O.T. together again and return on stage.
Previously, Sechs Kies and girl group S.E.S had their reunions and they are now frequently seen on variety shows and radio programs. On top of this, a series of concerts have been lined up as part of their promotions.
Meanwhile, one of the H.O.T members, Moon Hee Jun, just announced his wedding to Crayon Pop's Soyul. My Daily reported that the ceremony is going to be held on Feb. 12, 2017 at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul.
