"Dexter" veteran actor James Remar has been added to recur as Jim Gordon's secretive uncle Frank Gordon in "Gotham" Season 3. He is heading to the Gotham City.
According to TV Line, Remar's character Frank is the uncle of fatherless Jim (Benjamin McKenzie) on the current third season of Fox's Batman origin series "Gotham." He is a master at playing both sides and a man who knows how to keep a secret.
In the plot of "Gotham," Frank abandoned the family after Jim's father's fatal car crash, Deadline reported. Now, 25 years later, he has returned to reconnect with his estranged nephew. However, he harbors a dark secret, one that will upset the very foundations of Jim's world and force him into a terrible choice between saving his family and saving his city.
"Gotham" is from writer/executive producer Bruno Heller. It follows one cop's rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering between good and evil, and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular superheroes of our time.
It sounds like there is more fun for Jim ahead in "Gotham." Jim is already dealing with a supervillain with terrifying hypnotist powers, a boss that has gone homicidal after being poisoned by a young girl's blood, and watching his ex-fiancee marry someone else.
In addition to "Dexter," Remar's latest TV gig is "Gotham." He was recently on MTV's sci-fi series "The Shannara Chronicles." He can currently be seen alongside Aaron Paul and Michelle Monaghan in Hulu's "The Path" Season 2.
Remar will play in a recurring role opposite Rob Lowe on CBS' "Code Black." His other recent credits include "State of Affairs," ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," FX's "Wilfred," feature "Papa: Hemingway in Cuba," and "Sex and the City" for which he was nominated for a SAG award. He is represented by Gersh.
Remar's recurring "Gotham" Season 3 stint is slated to kick off in early 2017. The Fox drama's fall finale airs starting Nov. 28 and then Mondays at 8/7c on Fox.
