"Naruto Shippuden" is coming to an end as its manga counterpart has already concluded the story of the young ninja who became the Hokage. But his story continues through his son and it's appropriately titled as "Boruto" and it's reportedly coming soon in anime adaptation after its release in manga.
Boruto Anime Confirmed
Fans looking for a continuation of Naruto's story in manga format are in for a treat as the follow-up manga to the popular series "Boruto" is coming soon with an anime adaptation. According to Anime News Network the manga adaptation was confirmed through Shonen Jump and it's expected to premiere in April 2017. The beginning of a brand new anime might be a sign that "Naruto Shippuden" could end soon.
Although the "Boruto" is helmed by new names, the original creator is still a big part of the manga and also confirmed his involvement in the anime adaptation. Masashi Kishimoto even promised to make it even better than his original series. Kishimoto is no longer writing and drawing the manga but he's still involved in the development of the story which should guide the extended series according to his vision.
Anime Series or Movie OVA
Although there is an announcement that an anime based on "Boruto" is coming next year, it is still unknown if it's going to be an anime series or a single OVA (original video animation). According to My Anime List, the manga about Naruto's son premiered May 2016 and it recently released its 7th chapter. If there's an anime series coming, additional content should be coming soon.
Naruto's son Boruto is already featured in films featuring Naruto as the Hokage. Although he is yet to confirm his additional powers as a ninja, he is already part of various games related to the popular anime.
