A lot of people strive to become a K-Pop star, but it's a whole different story if a big Hollywood celebrity wants to become part of the K-Pop industry. Such as is the case of Jaden Smith, who shared his aspiration on Twitter.
Earlier this month, Jaden Smith, son Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, expressed mad love for BIGBANG leader G-Dragon. On Twitter, the young singer-actor wrote that G-Dragon is his inspiration.
Recently Smith tweeted that he just wants to be a K-Pop star, allkpop reported. He followed up his initial tweet with, "I'm Serious I Actually Wanna Be A K Pop Star [sic]." It appears that Smith isn't joking about being a K-Pop idol.
Smith and his family have close ties with everyone at YG Entertainment. In 2013, Jaden and Will Smith visited the YG Entertainment headquarters in South Korea where they met with Yang Hyun Suk, G-Dragon, T.O.P, CL, Taeyang, Teddy and Choice37. The father and son tandem took a photo with the group, as well as individual photos with Yang Hyun Suk, CL and G-Dragon.
During the meeting, G-Dragon and Jaden Smith performed each other's music and promised to meet again in the future, MWave reported. The Smiths, together with 17 YG Entertainment staff members also ate at the label's famous cafeteria where the "After Earth" stars were served with bibimbap and bulgogi.
"YG Family, myself included, are huge fans of Will Smith, so when we heard that he expressed his desires to visit first, we were very surprised and excited," Yang Hyun Suk said about the visit. "Both father and son were very kind and my impressions of them have only gotten better."
While promoting "Focus" with co-star Margot Robbie in 2014, Will was asked about his relationship with YG Entertainment. He commented that the agency is "really amazing" and that "they've got beautiful things going on over there."
If ever Jaden Smith decides to change career paths and become a K-Pop idol under YG Entertainment, many will definitely look forward to it given his musical background and exquisite style that reflects YG Entertainment's own.
