After "Suicide Squad," Margot Robbie will be starring in a Harley Quinn spin-off movie that will officially launch "Gotham City Sirens" into the big screens. However, before that, a lineup of actresses has already been speculated to play one of Harley's "girlfriends," Poison Ivy.
Based on a few good sources, we've selected a few notable candidates who can play criminal mistress of vines in the upcoming spinoff.
During a question poll in Twitter this June, "Harley Quinn" comic writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Connor asked fans on who the potential actress could be.
1) Holland Roden
Her role as Lydia on "Teen Wolf" proves that a chemistry whiz who's also a Banshee, whose supernatural abilities are the cause of numerous murder scenes. Pamela Isley, the person who Poison Ivy formerly was, was a botanist-turned-supervillain, hence Roden being a potential candidate for the villainess.
2) Karen Gillan
She was the villainess Nebula in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and a sexy redhead Amy Pond in "Doctor Who". If Gillan can play both the sadistic femme killer and the alluring temptress who happens to have red hair, she would be perfect for Poison Ivy.
3) Jessica Chastain
Chastain has been in numerous movies already: "Interstellar," "The Martian," "Crimson Peak," "The Huntsman: Winter's War," "The Tree of Life," and "Miss Sloane." Seeing that those movies range from sci-fi to drama to horror to fantasy, the Chastain is a well-rounded actress who can give her characters so much depth and definition - plus, she was an Academy Award-nominated star. In addition to that, she rocks the red-headed look and curves.
4) Eva Green
The versatile actress has also taken roles that touch the darker side of storytelling, like in "Penny Dreadful," "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For," and "300: Rise of an Empire." The actress also has the alluring sensuality that could fit Ivy's forte. And, yes, her last name's Green also.
5) Gillian Anderson
So what if she's a tad bit older than Margot Robbie? She's not that much older than Ben Affleck and Jared Leto, thus making her a legit Gotham villain. She's rocked her performance in her TV roles as a genius of wisdom, passion and even cunningness. Poison Ivy's also known to use her cunning wiles to her advantage over her enemies. Anderson fits the role.
6) Natalie Dormer
We've seen her in numerous appearances in the internet as lovely and seductive, in addition to her sexy roles as Anne Boleyn in "The Tudors," and then as Margaery Tyrell on the mega-hit HBO series "Game of Thrones." Other than her seductiveness, Dormer also proved to balance her beauty with a bit of combat skills in "The Hunger Games" series. Plus that alluring smile of hers! Pulling off Poison Ivy would be no sweat for her.
