"Ddong couple" of variety show "We Got Married" has been recognized as the Best Couple during the "2016 MBC Entertainment Awards" last Dec. 29.
According to Allkpop, Solar and Eric Nam personally received the award on Tuesday and thanked the fans for the support they have been giving to the two since they started their virtual marriage on "We Got Married."
"I really didn't know we would win. Thank you to everyone who loved 'Ddong Couple.' This year, many dreamy things happened. It's like a dream, being able to receive this in front of all the sunbaes I respect. We will continue to work hard," Solar said in her acceptance speech.
"I am honored to receive this couple award. Thank you to all staffs, writers, and directors. I will work harder next year," Eric Nam added.
Solar and Eric Nam ended their virtual marriage on "We Got Married" in November. The couple was even emotional in their final episode after more than six months. A "We Got Married" PD said Solar and Eric Nam ended their journey well as cited by Soompi.
"Solar and Eric Nam did many things together. On their last episode, they looked back over their memories together. Different from other couples, they smiled and laughed together and concluded their last episode well. They reserved their sad and tearful emotions for their individual interviews," the PD said.
The PD added the two artists were obvious of their concern to each other, stating that Solar and Eric Nam tried to contain their emotions to focus in the filming of the "We Got Married" episode.
"The two of them have always been considerate and kindhearted people. It seemed like the two of them decided not to cry in consideration of the other person. They said goodbye very calmly," the PD added.
